Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. It just takes one simple line to epitomize the importance of “EYES” and how it weaves different aspects of life together. The gift of sight is one of those opportune gifts that makes or breaks the life of an individual. No amount of facts or theories is enough to cite the importance of the sense of sight.

For the less blessed ones who for some reason are deprived of this sense, the act of living itself becomes taxing and tough as at every point some sort of guidance is needed because of this impairment. It not only makes them handicap but also disheartens them to a certain extent because of their lack of independence and freedom of movement.  One of the major disappointments is that most of the places are not well-equipped for the blind and there is a great dearth of facilities for them to exercise.

Science has definitely steered the world into a completely different direction. With the invention of scientific medical treatments and technological advancements, curing of permanent blindness and other eye-related ailments has become easier than what it used to be in the past.  It is no longer an incurable phenomenon, at least, for most of the cases.

LASIK or laser eye treatment has paved ways for the treatment of vision correction for people with myopia, hypermetropia and astigmatism through surgery. According to a few studies, almost 96% of patients can have their desired vision after laser eye treatment. It is a painless procedure and no bandages or stitches are obligatory after the operation.

Corneal grafting or cornea transplant is a surgical procedure performed on a damaged or diseased cornea generally replaced by donated corneal tissue. This kind of transplant is done when medicines, keratoconus conservative surgery and cross-linking cannot nurse back to health cornea anymore.

Cataract problems are usually accompanied with age and it is typically prevalent in senile patients. Femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery has brought new levels of safety, accuracy to LASIK and has also advanced cataract surgery. The duration of the procedure is less and the recovery time is about a month.
