Treatment of Cataract
With aging come inevitable changes in our bodies. Our eyes have crystalline lens which works to focus on things at varying distances. This lens becomes stiff and hardens to some extent, losing its ability to focus and creating sight issues without its youthful adaptability. With these changes occurring in the natural crystalline lens with passing time, it can possibly lead to cataracts, which is clouding of the lens inside the eye causing loss in clarity of the lens and therefore losing its power to focus light properly.

The role of femtosecond lasers in cataract surgery is to assist or replace several aspects of the manual cataract surgery. Femtosecond laser cataract surgery includes the creation of the initial surgical incisions in the cornea, the creation of the capsulotomy and the initial fragmenting of the lens. The femtosecond laser may also produce incisions within the peripheral cornea to aid the correction of pre-existing astigmatism.

At Centre for Sight, our team of eye specialists works hard to control this with medicines and laser eye surgery. LASIK surgery is the most popular elective procedure performed today, largely due to the ease of the surgery itself.  In most cases, laser eye surgery is pain-free and completed within 15 minutes for both eyes.  The improved vision can be observed without eyeglasses or contact lenses in as little as 24 hours. Due to this accuracy and time efficiency, LASIK surgery reviews are positive and set confidence in those who will go through the surgery in some point of future.
